About the school
Bromley High School is an independent day school for girls between the ages of four and eighteen years. lt is governed by the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) through its Council, a separate local body of governors providing advice and support. The school joined the HMC in 2015.

The school was established in 1883 in central Bromley , moving to its current site in Bickley in 1981. Since the previous inspection, the school has restructured both senior and junior school management teams and its pastoral structures. lt has refurbished the sixth form centre and the swimming pool and developed its information, communication and technology (ICT) and music facilities.

What the school seeks to do
The school aims to foster a love of learning; to nurture a spirit of independence by providing opportunities to participate in challenging intellectual, artistic and physical activities; to prepare pupils for life beyond school, inspiring in them an awareness of their responsibilities in the wider world.

About the pupils
Pupils come from a wide catchment area of south London with diverse ethnicity reflecting the area and business and professional backgrounds.

Nationally standardised test data provided by the school indicate the ability profile of the junior and senior schools is above average; that of the sixth form is broadly average.

The school has identified 59 pupils requiring support for special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) with 27 pupils receiving additional support from the school. No pupil in the school has a statement of special educational needs or an education, health and care (EHC) plan. English is an additional language (EAL) for 201 pupils with 7 pupils receiving additional support. There are no pupils whose English is below a functional level of competence.
