A Repton education is a precious and powerful gift, because who we are, what we do, and what we believe in could not be more pertinent for young people facing the modern world.
Our pupils have a groundedness that recognises that life at Repton is about performance, not privilege. Reptonians never have to prioritise academic achievement over their love of the theatre or rank their aptitude for sport above their passion for music.
We are ambitious for every one of our pupils; Repton is small enough to ensure that the talents of each individual are nurtured and valued, yet large enough to compete on the international arena across academia, music, the arts and sport. We believe in the pursuit of academic excellence and success, but this is not at the expense of an all-round and broad education; we recognise that exam results are the price of entry, but life-skills are the ticket to success.
Of course, the most important role of any school is to guarantee your child a safe place in which to thrive. Each generation of educators grapples with a new challenge, and adolescent mental health is, without doubt, the most important priority for all schools. The frenzied pace of life and the demands placed on young people by society and perpetuated on social media means that it can be difficult for them to navigate adolescence alone. We are enormously proud of the emphasis we place on outstanding pastoral care at Repton and on top of that, being part of a purposeful community with others traversing the same hurdles creates a sense of being ‘in it together’.
I hope our website gives you a flavour of life at Repton. To understand who we are and what we are about, come and see us. Step through the archway and you will be assured of a very warm welcome.
